The Silent Wings Museum tells the story of the U.S. Combat
Glider Program and its role in World War II. The majority of
American glider pilots received their wings at South Plains
Army Airfield (SPAAF) – now the site of Lubbock Preston
Smith International Airport. The museum features one of the
few fully restored World War II gliders in existence and
includes three exhibit galleries, a multi-media theater, a
research library and a gift shop. Call for hours and
admission prices.
